About Why Am I Blue
Children's literature is often defined as a collection of books written for children, read by children, and/or written about children. But this definition may be too simplistic for a not-so-simple genre. Books develop and nourish kids' imaginations, expanding their worlds. Picture books introduce young children to the world of art and literature. Novels and nonfiction books stimulate kids' sensory awareness, helping kids to see, hear, taste, feel, and smell on an imagined level.
Children's books are everything from Young Adult down to board books for your teething kiddo, however, a book is considered a children's book when it's intended for an audience between 0-8 years old. But there are a wide variety of standards and skill between these opposite ends with children's books.
